About us

After a two and a half year absence, Andy Waters has re-opened Edmunds restaurant.

However, this time, away from the tranquil town environment of Henley – in –Arden, to the hustle and bustle of city life.

Along with partners, Chris & Cos Papachristoforou, he’s managed to secure a prime site in Brindley Place, Birmingham.
Andy says

“It has taken a lot of searching to find the right site as Henley will always be a special location to me, Brindley Place offers the whole package in surroundings, security and ambience that marries the Edmunds philosophy – It is relaxed with a lot of attention to detail.
Initially we were not looking for a city centre site but with the experience of Chris and Cos who are already successful restauranteurs, as owners of Cielo in Brindley Place, we decided that this was the ideal location.

I will also be able to continue in my role at Cielo as Executive Chef which is very important to me, as we are achieving good recognition for the Italian / Mediterranean influenced bistro style restaurant.”

For those who do not know the history of Edmunds, Andy opened in 2002 naming the restaurant after his late father. Andy’s approach to cooking soon attracted national interest resulting in the awarding of a coveted Michelin star within 6 months of opening and been named as Hardens restaurant of the year, an award sponsored by Remy Martin.

As a classically trained chef, Andy sources the finest ingredients to appear on his menu, as he believes that the flavours will speak for themselves. He keeps his dishes simple, with a twist, in order to reflect this.

Andy’s aim is to re-create but strengthen what Edmunds was, and by twinning with the Papachristoforou brothers, he hopes that Edmunds and Birmingham once again appears on the culinary map.
